Ireland's biggest traditional music festival needed a real-time platform for schedules, maps, notifications, and live updates — handling massive concurrent traffic spikes during peak events.
Edge-first, offline-capable architecture
We designed a PWA with Vercel Edge Functions for sub-50ms response times globally, Supabase Realtime for live schedule updates, and aggressive service worker caching for offline access in areas with poor mobile signal.

feat: implement edge-cached schedule API
Moved schedule data to edge cache with 60s stale-while-revalidate. Cold starts dropped from 800ms to 12ms.

feat: add real-time venue capacity indicators
WebSocket-powered live capacity bars for each venue. Updates propagate to all connected clients in <100ms.
Zero downtime across 5 festival days
The platform served 500,000+ unique visitors with zero downtime, sub-1.2s load times, and a 98 Lighthouse score. The PWA was installed by 40% of visitors.
